About The Local Ticket

What is the Local Ticket?

The Local Ticket is a local event ticketing platform that connects event-goers with events happening in their community. We make it easy to discover, purchase, and manage tickets to local events — and equally easy for event organizers to list and sell tickets directly to their audience.

Do I need an account to buy tickets?

You can browse events without an account, but you’ll need to create a free account to complete a purchase. Having an account lets you access your tickets at any time, view your order history, and manage upcoming events all in one place.

Is the Local Ticket available in my city?

We’re growing! The Local Ticket supports events listed by organizers across many cities and towns. Use the search or browse by location on the homepage to see what’s happening near you. If you’re an organizer and don’t see your city represented, you can still create an account and start listing events today.

For Ticket Buyers

How do I purchase tickets?

Find an event you’d like to attend, select the ticket type and quantity, and proceed to checkout. You’ll be prompted to log in or create an account if you haven’t already. Payment is processed securely, and your tickets are delivered instantly to your email and accessible in your account.

What payment methods are accepted?

We accept all major credit and debit cards including Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. Payment processing is handled securely — your card details are never stored on our servers.

How do I receive my ticket after purchase?

Once your order is confirmed, your tickets are sent immediately to the email address on your account. Each ticket includes a unique QR code that will be scanned at the door. You can also log in to your account at any time to view and download your tickets.

Can I add my tickets to Google Calendar or Apple Calendar?

Yes! After completing your purchase, your confirmation page includes options to add the event directly to Google Calendar or download a calendar file (.ics) that works with Apple Calendar and Outlook. This way your event is saved automatically with all the details.

I didn't receive my ticket email - what should I do?

First, check your spam or junk mail folder, as ticket emails can occasionally be filtered. If it’s not there, log in to your account and navigate to your orders — your tickets will be available to view and download there. If you’re still having trouble, contact us and we’ll sort it out right away.

What is your refund policy?

Refund policies are set by each event organizer and will be clearly stated on the event listing before you purchase. If an event is cancelled by the organizer, you will be entitled to a full refund. For all other refund requests, please contact the organizer directly through the event page or reach out to our support team and we’ll help facilitate.

What happens if the event is cancelled or postponed?

If an event is cancelled, ticket holders will be notified by email and refunds will be processed automatically. If an event is postponed, the organizer will communicate the new date and your ticket will typically remain valid. If you cannot attend the rescheduled date, contact support to discuss your options.

How do I use my ticket at the door?

Show your ticket — either on your phone or as a printed copy — at the event entrance. Staff will scan the QR code on your ticket to verify and check you in. Make sure your screen brightness is turned up for easiest scanning.

Are there service fees on ticket purchases?

Some events may include a small service or booking fee added at checkout. Any applicable fees will always be shown clearly before you complete your purchase — there are no hidden charges.

For Event Organizers

How do I become an event organizer on The Local Ticket?

Click “Add Event” from the main navigation and follow the registration steps to create your organizer account. Once approved, you’ll have access to your own organizer dashboard where you can create and manage events & track sales.

Is there a cost to list events?

Listing events on The Local Ticket is free. We charge a small percentage fee on tickets sold, which covers payment processing and platform costs. All applicable fees are explained clearly on our seller fees page. There are no upfront costs or subscription fees to get started.

How do I create an event listing?

From your organizer dashboard, click “Add New Event.” You’ll be able to enter all event details including the name, date and time, venue, description, and ticket types. You can set different ticket tiers with their own prices and quantities, and choose to publish immediately or save as a draft to finalize later.

Can I offer multiple ticket types for one event?

Yes. You can create as many ticket types as you need — for example, General Admission, VIP, Early Bird, or Group tickets — each with its own price, description, and available quantity. This gives your attendees flexibility and helps you maximize your event’s revenue potential.

Can I set a limited quantity on ticket types?

Absolutely. For each ticket type you create, you can set a maximum quantity available. Once that limit is reached, that ticket type will automatically show as sold out. This is especially useful for capacity-controlled venues or exclusive VIP allocations.

How do I check-in attendees at my event?

You can check in attendees by scanning their QR code tickets using a smartphone or tablet. Your organizer account gives you access to a check-in tool you can use on the day of the event. You can also view your full attendee list and manually check in guests if needed. You may also connect a bar scanner to your device & scan tickets like that.

Can I sell tickets in person at the door?

Yes. The Local Ticket supports point-of-sale ticket sales, allowing you to sell tickets on-site at your event using a connected device. Door sales are tracked alongside your online sales so your attendee list and remaining capacity stay accurate in real time. Connect a Stripe payment CC machine to activate machine card payments through The Local Ticket’s POS feature.

When and how do I receive my sales revenue?

Payouts are processed after your event takes place. Revenue is transferred to the bank account or payment method you set up in your organizer profile, minus any applicable platform fees. You can monitor your earnings at any time from your organizer dashboard. If you have questions about a specific payout, contact our support team.

Can I edit or cancel an event after publishing?

Yes, you can edit your event details at any time from your organizer dashboard. If you need to cancel an event, you can do so through the dashboard — ticket holders who have already purchased will be notified automatically, and refunds will be processed. We recommend communicating directly with your attendees whenever changes are made.

What reports and sales data are available to me?

Your organizer dashboard gives you a real-time overview of ticket sales, revenue, attendee counts, and remaining availability broken down by ticket type. You can also export your attendee list and order data for your own records or for use on event day.

Can I issue complimentary or guest list tickets?

Yes. From your organizer dashboard you can generate complimentary tickets at $0 value for guests, media, sponsors, or staff. These tickets will go through the same check-in process as paid tickets, keeping your attendee tracking consistent.

How do I contact The Local Ticket for support?

You can reach our support team through the Contact page on the website. We aim to respond to all inquiries promptly. Organizers with time-sensitive issues related to live events will be prioritized. Whether you’re a buyer or an organizer, we’re here to help.
